The hood runs but barely pulls anything. Is it the motor?
Sometimes. Just as often the blower is roof-mounted and full of grit, the roof cap damper is stuck, the baffles are loaded, or the kitchen has nowhere to draw make-up air from. Those get checked before anybody quotes a blower.

A heat sensor doing exactly what it should. Hot air is not clearing, usually because the liner or the wheel is caked. A proper clean fixes it; if it comes back afterwards, the ducting is the next thing to look at.

Smoke from searing just hung in the room even on high. The baffles were fine but the blower wheel was caked solid on the underside. He pulled it, cleaned it, and the difference was obvious that evening.
